SUPER IES 20 学士課程で学ぶ留学へつながる英語教育を、Super IES プログラム 海外協定大学と協働開発したこの特別プログラムは、それぞれの大学で実践されている英語教育を関西外大の学生のために進化させたものです。専門領域を学ぶ留学へグンと近づきます。外国語学部 英米語学科In collaboration withThe University of Alabamae University of Alabama and KansaiGaidai's Super IES Program is designed forfirst-year students. It is a one-year programfor about 100 first year students. During thespring semester, students take twolanguage-based courses and onecontent-based course. In the fall semester,students take one language-based course andtwo content-based courses. In addition toimproving students' English ability, thisprogram aims to provide students withacademic language proficiency, criticalthinking skills, an appreciation ofinternational cultures, and a deepunderstanding of major issues facing ourworld today. After successfully completingthis program and pre-departure courses,students will be able to study abroad for twosemesters during their second and third year.In the Spring semester, two language-basedcourses and one content-based coursefocusing on Global Issues and WorldReligions are offered. The first semester of the programis focused on building academic Englishskills. Students take three classes. Theircommunication class focuses on reading,listening, vocabulary and speaking and theirwriting class focuses on writing and grammar.The second semester of the program is focusedon Academic content. The purpose of thissemester is to expose students to the kind ofcontent, assignments, and assessments theywill encounter in a variety of subjects in anEnglish speaking university. Students willengage with content in Psychology,Communication, Marketing, Tourism,Population Science, and Sociology.Our goal is to give students the sameexperience they would receive in an AmericanIntensive English program without leavingJapan. In addition to academics, ourinstructors provide support throughout theyear. We spend time with students talkingabout culture shock and how to cope with it toprepare them for their study abroad.University of North Texas
